Wall cladding contract secured at £7million stadium development
S&D FLOORING is delighted to have been appointed to help deliver a key part of the interior scheme at the £7million redevelopment at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds in Goole.
Led by main contractor Britcon (UK) Limited, the VPG project is creating a new state-of-the-art, two-storey sports pavilion that features modern changing facilities, a café and a 160-seat conference and hospitality suite capable of hosting sporting, corporate and community events as part of the Goole Town Deal.
Once complete, the revamped facilities are expected to boost annual usage from 13,000 to more than 63,000 visits - and we have been tasked with installing Altro Limited's hygienic Whiterock wall cladding throughout the pavilion.
Thrilled to be involved in such a fantastic development, Managing Director Steve Dixon said: “This is an exciting project that will transform the long-term future of sport in the town, providing first-class facilities for grassroots teams and the wider community.
“Sport is such a powerful way to bring people together, and we’re proud to be playing a part in delivering such a significant initiative for Goole and its residents.”
Owned by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and leased to Goole Town Council for 30 years, the VPG site is home to non-league football side Goole Town AFC and the Betfred League One rugby side Goole Vikings RLFC. Work must be complete before the new rugby league season starts in February 2026.
